Rev. R.J. Kiirya was called to ministry at the age of nineteen. He began ministry at Nkumba University in Uganda before moving to Canada for ministerial training with the Church of God International. He served as Assistant Pastor at Christ's Chapel Bible Church under the leadership of Bishop Jacob Afolabi until December 2004 when he was released to establish the River Jordan Ministries. Born in a family of eight, Rev. R.J. Kiirya is the fifth born son of Lt. Col. William & Mrs. Loyce Rwolekya, retired ministers of The Salvation Army in Uganda, East Africa. Rev. R.J. Kiirya holds a Province of Ontario Ministerial License and Ordination Credentials from the Association of Education and Evangelism at Canada Christian College, Toronto.

 He is a gifted teacher with a passion for prayer and obedience to God's Word. He also lays emphasis on restoring of the family structure and works extensively with the youth in encouraging them to a productive lifestyle.He has travelled to preach in United States, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania, and will respond to the voice of God to preach wherever the Lord sends him.

In the community he is involved with the Rotary Club of Ottawa, serving on the World Community Service committee. He is also a member of the Pastoral team at Queensway Hospital in Ottawa.
